When Beth Hollick got the call that she and her husband had won a free car, she was, shall we say, skeptical.
“Right,” she said, and handed the phone to her husband, Royed.
“Well, we never win anything,” Royed added with a smile the day they came to pick up their car.
But it wasn’t a scam – the Hollicks had won a drawing that was part of our Menholt Mega Sale event last month. Their prize was a gently used 2012 Chevy Cruze Eco.
For the Menholt Mega Sale, managers and sales consultants from all three of our Rapid City stores (Denny Menholt Toyota, Rushmore Honda and Denny Menholt Rapid Chevrolet) gathered at our Rapid Chevrolet location, where managers appraised trade-in vehicles and bid against each other to give customers the best possible value on their trade. Hundreds of people participated in the event, which lasted four business days and included the drawing for a chance to win a car. Once the sale ended, we had one final task: drawing a winner.
Loyal customers of our Rushmore Honda store, Royed had driven from their home in Custer to our store expressly to enter our drawing. So, when the Rapid Chevrolet store general manager Mark Kostboth called the next week to let the Hollicks know they’d won that drawing, Royed gladly took the call.
